DEVELOPMENT OF PARTNERSHIP RELATIONS BETWEEN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS AND BUSINESS STRUCTURES: FORMS OF COOPERATION AND ORGANISATION OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS

Full text (pdf)
Language: Ukrainian
Abstract. The article considers the specifics of various forms of cooperation between higher education institutions (HEIs) and employers in foreign countries and Ukraine. It is noted that cooperation with employers, while sharing common features, can take specific forms depending on the organisation of the educational process, the primary goals set for HEIs and state policy. The authors analysed the process of interaction between HEIs and labour market representatives in France, the Netherlands, and Japan. This interaction mainly involves engaging representatives of business structures in the educational process to balance the demand of the labour market for skilled specialists with the supply offered by HEIs. It is emphasised that, in organising the educational process in Ukraine, the needs of the labour market should be considered without diminishing the level of fundamental training. It is highlighted that sufficient fundamental training enables future specialists to enhance their professional level and, in the light of today’s realities, to retrain and acquire related professions. The results of an online survey conducted by the authors in 2022–2023 within the framework of the research project “Implementation of university autonomy in the context of decentralisation of HEIs management, democratisation of the educational process and increased responsibility for the quality of education” on the forms and impact of cooperation between HEIs and labour market representatives are presented. The findings of the research indicate that the majority of respondents support and recognise the necessity of such cooperation, particularly in regulating enrolment volumes based on the demand of the regional labour market. The idea of involving employers in the development and modernisation of educational programmes was also supported by both academic staff and applicants to higher education.
