THE IMPACT OF GLOBALISATION AND REGIONALISATION ON WORLD EDUCATIONAL PROCESSES
Full text (pdf)
Language: Ukrainian
Abstract. This article provides a thorough analysis of the scientific literature covering the peculiarities of globalisation and regionalisation processes in the world in general and in the field of education in particular. The views of scholars regarding the definition of the essence of the phenomenon of “globalisation”, the history of its emergence and development are presented, while it is emphasised that modern scientific thought evaluates the consequences of globalisation for humanity ambiguously. The scientific approaches to interpreting the relationship between the concepts of regionalisation and globalisation and their influence on global economic and social processes are analysed. The authors emphasise that there are two opposing approaches to this issue in the scientific literature. According to the first approach, regionalisation and globalisation are complementary and inseparable processes that flow into each other. According to the second approach, these processes are antagonistic. In the modern world, however, they influence people’s lives, especially given the strengthening of migration trends. The authors also analyse the opinions of scholars on the impact of globalisation on education policy, including the processes of unification of educational standards, digitalisation of the educational environment, international academic mobility and integration of national education systems into the global educational space. At the same time, emphasis is placed on the challenges faced by countries due to the need to preserve their own cultural and linguistic traditions in education. It is found that today the regionalisation of education is considered a strategy for adapting educational programmes to the specifics of a certain region, taking into account its socio-economic, cultural and linguistic characteristics. Thus, among the main directions of regionalisation are the decentralisation of education management, the development of regional educational programmes, the training of personnel according to the needs of the local labour market and the integration of local traditions into the educational process. The importance of harmonising international standards with local educational initiatives to improve the quality of education is emphasised.
