Full text (pdf)
Language: Ukrainian
Abstract. This article aims to analyze the current state of educational tourism in general secondary and out-of-school education of Ukraine, as well as to identify the key trends of its development. To achieve the stated objective, statistical data collected by the Ukrainian State Center for National and Patriotic Education, Local History and Tourism of Student Youth were used (the number of educational tourism events conducted, their distribution by types, the number of sports tourism expeditions of student youth by types of sports tourism). The results of a survey of educators in Ukraine conducted from March to June 2025 were also used. The relevance of the study is determined by the importance of implementing educational tourism activities in Ukrainian education during the period of its reform, as well as by the insufficient level of research into the problems of educational tourism in general secondary and out-of-school education. The proportions of various types of educational excursions and trips (one-day, multi-day within Ukraine, and multi-day outside Ukraine), as well as sports tourism hikes of student youth of various types of sports tourism, and changes in the number of these activities during the wartime period were analyzed. Based on the survey results, educators’ views on educational tourism, its educational opportunities, and methods of preparing and conducting educational excursions were analyzed. The most common sites visited and the distribution of excursions by academic subjects were identified. The main contemporary trends in the development of educational tourism in Ukraine were determined. It was established that the number of educational tourism activities with a patriotic focus was increasing. Educational tourism activities acquired an additional function of psychological support for student youth under the conditions of martial law. The share of domestic tourism increased, in particular, local one-day excursions. Digital formats of educational tourism, such as virtual excursions, online quests, and educational VR tours, were rapidly expanding.
Keywords: educational tourism, general secondary education, out-of-school education, excursions, sport tourist trips.
