ANALYSIS OF INTERNAL EDUCATIONAL MIGRATION FOR GRADUATES OF 2018 WITH A DEGREE IN LAW
Abstract. The article deals with the problem of educational migration within the country on the example of Bachelor of Law specializations alumni graduated in 2018. In Ukraine admission to Master Degree Program in Law specialization is based on the use of organizational and technological tools for conducting an external independent evaluation, which allows performing an integrated evaluation of the graduates’ competencies, as well as to identify the regularities and to study the influence of certain factors on the field of legal education. The peculiarities of this entrance examination organization contribute to the growth of graduates migration flows, which are the subject of this study. The educational migration is defined as the territorial movement of students or graduates of a certain educational level from one settlement to another (within the country) for the purpose of increasing their educational level and gaining new knowledge. The classification of the types of internal educational migration is carried out. The article identifies the factors influencing the Bachelors’ choice of an educational institution for obtaining the next level of education. It is found that the influence of each of the listed factors is not linear. The author presents a rating of the higher education institutions characterized by the highest level of educational migration. The competitive environment caused by an open competition of a single entrance exam and educational migration of the students gradually leads to the improvement in the average level of graduates’ knowledge and allows more successful graduates to apply for the Master Degree Programs under the conditions of a limited number of places.
