THE MAIN ELEMENTS OF ACADEMIC MOBILITY IN THE EU AND OTHER COUNTRIES
Abstract. The purpose of the article is to identify and describe the main elements of the academic mobility system in the EU and other countries. The main elements of academic mobility are national academic mobility centres, higher education institutions, students, and teaching staff. The legal framework serves as the basis for the existence of academic mobility, providing its consolidation with state laws on higher education and the source of rights for participants in academic exchanges (students, teachers, researchers, academic staff). In this article, the elements of academic mobility are examined in the context of such countries as Austria, Germany, the United Kingdom, Finland and the United States of America. During the active and fruitful interaction between the elements of academic mobility, competition from developing countries, combined with the opportunity for close cooperation, is intensifying as they have become more active actors in higher education, there is observed the recognition of the need for higher education and cooperation in various fields in the context of student and staff mobility. The studying internationalization strategies in higher education requires a special focus on Europe as it is considered to be the most internationalized education area in the world. The phenomenon of academic mobility has a positive influence on improving the quality of education, mutual understanding between different cultures, forming a new generation, prepared for life and work in the globalized community, integrating the international educational space with the help of the use of world educational resources.
